Disable Visitor Messages

Since we don't really use them,do you think visitor messages should be disabled?

I believe you mean the messages on our page. I also believe that you can disable that through preferences.

Some people might disapprove of it. This site needs to prevent disapproval.

Well as for now being due to this site having inactive members,I think it would be a good idea to lay off the visitor messages until we reach a number of active members in which we can enable it again.

I'd say that there should be a way to inform members if they've recieved a new visitor message. For now, nobody can know if they've a gotten a VM.

However, it doesn't really matter whether or not you have notice of it. People post on there to thank you for something, or ask you a question.

I like the visitor messages personally. I like to use them so I can tell other users other things about myself, or just leave a semi-personal gift!!!!

actually, I have a better idea. the reason why people don't use VMs so much, or at least the reason I don't, is because there's no alert system that informs you of a new VM, is there a way to create an alert system.

Sorry,but there is no way at the moment,

I think you should get rid of them for now. I'm not seeing much of a benefit to this sort of small community. Sure VM's are a nice way to communicate to people, but that is why there are private messages, blogs, and the chat on the bottom. When the community gets bigger and it's hard to keep track of the three things I said, then sure, bring them back.
